Major photo sharing issue
So due to Flickr’s recent “updates” they removed the ability for photo sets to be directly shared to wordpress blogs, along with the ability to manually embed said photo sets as well. Due to this downgrade, I may actually stop, or slow down, how much I share to this blog.. It is always so frustrating when sites remove features “for the greater good” even though said features were very very helpful

[Photoshoots] Trying something..different?

Just a collection of short photoshoots where I want to experiment with different editing styles; assuming I manage to achieve said editing style that is.
Shoot #1 (Pictures 1-3): Trying out a low contrast editing style WITHOUT using my off-camera light as well. Sadly my 7D can’t render colours as nicely as I wanted after the sun went down past a certain hour
Shoot #2 (Pictures 4-9): Attempt #2 at the same editing style, just with my flash this time. The results were really nice this time and the colours were much more even. Now whether or not I actually managed to get the style right is up in the air; it is hard for me to low contrast out of the blacks :c
Shoots #3 and #4 will focus on black & white processing!

Welcome to my third year attending Cos & Effect! This year was a bit different from the other years through the fact that I was asked to cover the costume contest on the second day (which you will see soon) and because it was the first year that my equipment got damaged 😦 Thankfully I had good friends who ended up saving my weekend!
And again I missed taking pictures of a LOT of great cosplays because I’m still too timid sadly..
Day 1 – Quiet and slow day over all, with the main feature being the Lolita fashion show! My flash fell at the end of the day
Day 2 – After what happened the day before, I wasn’t very keen on taking any pictures today. Thankfully a friend of mine was kind enough to let me borrow his flash and so I went forward with covering the costume contest with a bunch of other photographers; the results weren’t that bad 🙂
Day 3 – With sunday always being the slow day, I spent the day just hanging out and having a few photoshoots. It wasn’t a bad weekend after all 🙂

These would have been finished much earlier had things not come up and distracted me 😡
Anyway, I only had 4 hours to spend at MiniComi and both Laika Cosplay & Nyurt Cosplay were attending so we did the obvious thing when we met up. I plan on getting better/more pictures when we meet again around AR in august 🙂

Starting off the convention season and summer in general was the return of Anime Evolution. Since I got into photography after AE took a hiatus, this was my first time attending. To be honest, I was disappointed with the low attendance over all three days and if it hadn’t been for the fact that I had friends roaming around, I may have given up and left early Maybe next year will be better…
Other than that, great job to all the cosplayers that were around and that I managed to get a picture of. All of you were fantastic 🙂 Instructions on how you can get copies of your pictures will be added after I post everything I have from all three days.
I’m not very happy with the pictures from the first day…
