Project Epilogue – Day 674: The SFU Photoshoot and a Bit of Anime Evolution

A couple of friends of mine planned to have a photoshoot at SFU and invited me to join in.
Although we ended splitting off to different locations at the start :s Anyway, I finally had a
chance to work with someone I had met at the Zombie Walk earlier in August! The photoshoot went
fairly well although I’m not really keen on using SFU Burnaby again this season..
At the same time as this shoot the Anime Evolution convention was going on at the campus as well.
From what I was told before, AE was the original anime convention that took place in Vancouver up
to 2009/2010; Cos & Effect and Anime Revolution appeared in 2011 and 2012 respectively. My timing
was off a bit unfortunately so I ended up talking with people I already knew and getting their
pictures instead. The best part of this was that I learned my 7D + off-camera flash (with non-
Canon or Pocket Wizard flash triggers) is capable of capturing action shots with the flash
actually working! There are soooo many things I can do with this knowledge 🙂

It just so happened that AE was taking place during the photoshoot that I was doing with a couple of friends (see here: flic.kr/s/aHsjCKn1Nd). Since there weren’t many cosplayers walking around, I didn’t really get a chance to get many pictures but I did get some of a few friends of mine at least 🙂

Project Epilogue – Day 651: VanStyle Autumn Photoshoot

A friend of mine recently formed a new club at SFU called VanStyle. The club is about anything related to fashion pretty much, from clothing and hair styles for guys to clothing, make-up, nails, etc for girls.
The first event for the club was an autumn fashion photoshoot at SFU. Sadly it was a cloudy and dreary day but we tried to make the best of it still although I didn’t get many pictures either. They even made a blog where you can find all of their reviews and the rest of the pictures from the photoshoot! For a first event, it was pretty chaotic but still enjoyable 🙂
Although the club is for fun, their blog follows a standard magazine format where they don’t want any of the photographers to post their sets before they are published on the blog. I managed to get an exception since my TEDxKids@BC event is on the same day. Enjoy this larger preview for now!

September 21st – Day 265 of 2012
The start of a new semester means that it is time for another icebreaker event! The theme for this icebreaker was “Alice in Wonderland”, much like how the summer icebreaker had a beach theme to it (Day 518 – flic.kr/p/bWn3GD). The event itself went great and we hope that everyone enjoyed it 🙂
